The gap!
I have wondered if part of my inability to finish books has to do with the "What Now," syndrome. Those final steps a self-publishing author has to take, generating covers, front matter, back matter, formatting and structuring it all, SEOs, and getting it uploaded in the right form for it to actually look like you know what the hell you're doing, I've tried a multitude of programs to help with the process and they each, in their limited way, get me part way, but the reality is

Books in print????
I've been asked by a few friends if I have books in print. The current answer is no. I printed a one-off manuscript, numbered and signed, many years ago for a dear friend, for her wedding. None since. The ability to do print on demand from a number of sources makes is easier than ever to offer print copies. Should I?

Core Beliefs - Chapter 68 - The Face of Evil
Core Beliefs – Chapter 68 - The Face of Evil Matt accepted that once they made the technology public, they could expect attempts to steal it. Therefore, it was not a surprise when it occurred. It was, however, very surprising who made the attempt. John Leisure was a young man in his twenties, recruited by Doug into Dlrow Wen while they were both students in Houston. John came to Doug and said he was going to take some time away from school and wondered if he could go to ‘W

Core Beliefs - Chapter 67 - Reveal
Core Beliefs – Chapter 67 - Reveal Late September, during a video conference via Ruben’s new Personal Communications Modules (PCMs), the members of Dlrow Wen agreed it was time to reveal more of the technology to the world. The scientists were confident they had the means to protect and prevent it from falling into the wrong hands. Once more, that inner voice had moved Matt to boldness. Matt arranged with Senator Coldwell to make a presentation before a Select Congressional

Movin' and a shakin'!!!
At one time in my life, I juggled a dozen balls or more for hours at a time. That was also when I slept four out of twenty-four hours in a day. I never thought I would be short of juice, never thought I would run out of ideas, and I never thought I would hit a point where I couldn't finish a... (What was I going to talk about?) Oh Yeah, multitasking. I'm slower. It's called aging. I still get fantastic ideas and full pictured visions begging to be put on paper, but between th

Core Beliefs - Chapter 66 - A Variety of Vacations On January 24th, 2013, Dr. Mandaville and his wife left on vacation to England. The next day, Suchet and his family flew to India to visit family. Two days later, Chris and his family departed for Australia on a holiday. Doug and Ellie departed Wheatley and flew to Mexico for a break. In all, thirty people, via various routes, headed to the island nation of Dlrow Wen. Matt, Ling, Timmy, and Susan prepared to depart three d

Core Beliefs - Chapter 65 - Summoning in the New Year
Core Beliefs – Chapter 65 - Summoning in the New Year New Year’s Eve was going to be quiet for Matt and Ling. They planned to spend the day at home with Timmy. At about three in the afternoon, a courier arrived with a registered letter for Matt. It was from the United States Congress. Matt thought it was from Saulman Coldwell. After signing for it, he opened the envelope as he walked back to the family room. Matt stopped and read the message twice before reaching the family

Core Beliefs - Chapter 64 - Fly
Core Beliefs – Chapter 64 - Fly While the “Fantastic Four” and others accomplished miracles in Africa, Dr. Ellis Mandaville attacked the gravity manipulation theory with a new perspective and a fervor that his wife, Midge, had not seen in years. As a result, when Suchet and Chris returned, there was an urgent message from the doctor. “We need to talk,” Dr. Mandaville simply said. “Do you feel up to flying to Wichita?” Chris asked. “We could facilitate a link with Lenny an

Core Beliefs - Chapter 63 - Quarantine
Core Beliefs – Chapter 63 - Quarantine They crossed the border without further incident and reached the outskirts of the small city. The airport was less than five miles away. “I have a feeling that something is not right,” Ling whispered to Matt. He looked into her eyes, and her mind. Saw her fears. “I understand.” Matt kissed her and then slipped away. He needed to find people. “We need to check things out,” Matt had called a halt to the caravan and cornered Senator Col

Core Beliefs - Chapter 62 - From Refugee to Refuge
Core Beliefs – Chapter 62 - From Refugee To Refuge Though the tragedy of Charley’s injury had stressed and drained the silo crew, his rapid recovery not only restored their energy but also inspired them to forge ahead. Chris, Suchet, Clarence Chambers, and Doug and Ellie, remotely from Houston, continued to work on the shield generator. In late August, Suchet and Chris modified the generator and projected a half-field encompassing a 180-degree arc. A week later, they had a
