One Chapter, over 14600 words.
Why?
That's the way the vision manifested in my head.
I'm a Pantser, a term for someone who doesn't bother laying out a plot, or defining characters before the story is well underway. An image or scene pops into my head and I start typing, and boom...another 20,000 words have been vomited on the page.
I'm not saying they are good words, or that they are readable, but they become a backbone, and after a few years of tweaking, refining, polishing, and cutting until I bleed, something human emerges.
This chapter has been through so many rewrites I've lost count. Is it ready to read? Almost.
The spelling, grammar, and major phrasing has been culled, cleaned, and flows smoothly...but something is missing.
More human, less world building. The story is about souls trying to do their best, not stuff.
I hope to post it to my webpage by tomorrow evening.
You will have to tell me if it was worth the read.
Oh, the chapter title: From Refugee To Refuge
